Kelli Gott - kelli@adoptionteam.comI have had many jobs in the past, jobs I enjoyed and at which I was successful, but I never felt passionate about any of them. But when I began working in the adoption field ten years ago, I knew that I had found the work I wanted to do when I grew up! I am grateful every day to be involved in the adoption process, and for the small part I play in making dreams come true. Working with each birth mom during her journey, and treating her with caring, compassion and respect, is a very important part of what I do. When our clients and birth moms leave Hawaii with happiness in their hearts, then I know that I have served them well.
Shellie SheaI feel a deep compassion at what a trying and overwhelming time this is for both the birth mothers and the adoptive parents. I empathize with, and respect the birth mothers on their difficult decision. The birth mothers always seem to find it’s comforting that they have a source like Adoption Team Hawaii women who are there to provide confidential help and assistance. It’s also a trying time for the adoptive parents because of their past trials bringing them to this stage in their desire to have a family. I feel compelled to be there to support them all. I am inspired by what a difference Adoption Team Hawaii makes in individual’s lives. I knew I would love to be a part of the process. I bring to the team my strong sense of compassion, love for children, confidentiality and Adoption Team Hawaii providing a vehicle for me to help people continue with their lives more contently than when they came in.
Lauren AnguloFor over 25 years my life's work has been to support people through difficult transitions, to manage complex human processes, and to create and lead teams. It helps to have a graduate degree in psychology. It helps to have experienced the drama, stress and frustration of being an executive in several high-tech start-up companies. It helps to have been a world-class recruiter and executive coach. More than anything, though, it helps to know, as Rumi said 800 years ago, "I need more grace than I thought." This process, of adopting a child and conversely of placing a child, is one of life's most precious, challenging and rewarding events. I am in awe of both the adoptive parents and the birth mothers, and I look forward to the next opportunity to serve.
